Style and warmth for chalet-style living

Craftsmanship, wood and contemporary shapes for chalet-style living rooms

Bringing a little bit of the mountains to the city as well. Among the latest furniture trends, the mountain chalet style has become highly coveted by those who want to give their homes a comfortable and cozy air. It is designed as a cocoon that protects from the outside and welcomes inhabitants with a warm palette and a comforting sense of protection.

Classic shelter interiors are reinterpreted by architects in a contemporary way, always taking into account the surrounding environment. Furniture and decorations, in fact, must be in tune with the scenery. In furnishing a mountain home, wood is the undisputed protagonist, both on floors and ceilings. Not only parquet floors and exposed beams for the ceilings, but also wooden furniture to be chosen in natural tones (walnut, cherry, ash) with clean lines.

Keeping the original architectural elements as much as possible, such as exposed beams, stone walls, then makes the chalet even more rustic yet elegant. The living area is the heart of the house where conviviality is experienced, so it is necessary to choose a nice comfortable, soft sofa, preferably with lots of cushions, and wooden details. Make way then for paneling, furniture covered in fir strips, rustic tables, console tables and wooden bookcases that add warmth and sophistication to rooms.

Alberese, the linear and flexible sofa by Piero Lissoni for DePadova

Alberese is the harmonious, linear and flexible modular project designed by architect Piero Lissoni for DePadova, a symbol of contemporary, personal, cozy living.  “Alberese is a sofa born from many reflections and therefore frozen in its essence. Ithas big cushions, it is comfortable but also elegant,” is how Lissoni defined it.

“It’s called Alberese ,” he explained, “after the name of a very streamlined land (the Tuscan Maremma), large and with very visible horizons just like the sofa: a sofa that you can see, but at the same time very low with great comfort and very special angles, straddling design and architecture.

An upholstered collection this one with sloping arms where you can relax, read, and be together. All elements of the system share deep and comfortable seating-single modules, corner modules, as well as chaise longue and ottoman-  and design solutions that are different every time where small and big everyday stories can happen. This is a classically cut sectional sofa system upholstered on the floor. The end module with open-angle armrest gives the product extreme comfort given by the feather seat.
