Thea, the kitchen by architect Antonio Citterio for Arclinea a mix of functional and convivial spaces
To contain, optimize, organize space, conceal, and be the functional and convivial heart of the home. These are the aspects behind Thea, the new ergonomic kitchen designed by architect Antonio Citterio for Arclinea that will be presented inside the showroom
SAG’80 in via Boccaccio 11
during the upcoming Fuorisalone, from September 5 to 10.
A versatile kitchen, Thea underscores the strong connection with the company’s history, bearing the name of the brand’s first kitchen, created in 1958. The first model of Thea marked a Copernican revolution in the kitchen world developed up to that time: it was the first all-natural wood modular model.
Inspired by Scandinavian design, it had great aesthetic impact, marked by a distinct departure from enameled metal, the material with which modern kitchens were then being fitted.
The one on the other hand presented during this edition of the Supersalone, to the extreme practicality and aesthetic essentiality typical of handle-less models, the
architect Antonio Citterio
now associates a series of details and design choices, such as the separation into two distinct and complementary areas: Wet, the operational part, and Show, the convivial area. The Waterfall top makes it possible to design islands, peninsulas, linear solutions, in material continuity between top and end side.
The combinations of materials and finishes highlight an understated elegance that is accessible and perfectly livable: order, attention to detail, functions at your fingertips.
Arclinea Isola Thea : clean, refined materials and geometries
Functional, flexible in design, configurable in different types and intended for both the retail and contract worlds. The real novelty is an island-snack, with a different geometry and design and the absence of a handle. No electronics, but smart, easy-to-understand features.
In Thea, architect Citterio creates true domestic architecture, a pure and refined design concept created based on an in-depth study of ergonomics and new lifestyles.
Wet Kitchen, the functional area where passion for cooking takes shape
The Wet kitchen, is the functional area of Thea, a perfectly equipped workspace, but at the same time also a livable and cozy space. The three-sided design emphasizes space and equipment such as a central cooking area with a 90-cm oven and double sinks on either side.
The compositional horizontality is accentuated by the black anodized aluminum Gola Profile contrasting the white Fenix NTM® doors, the black PVD stainless steel plinth, and the stainless steel profile integrated with the equipped backrest, which is made of matte veined quartz like the Waterfall top.
Such juxtapositions of materials and finishes enhance a discreet, accessible and perfectly livable elegance where order, attention to detail, functions at hand and within easy reach of the eyes, and tops that are always perfectly lit, thanks to the integrated light under the wall unit and under the shelf, are protagonists.
Arclinea Thea and the Moka Box organization system
Also special are the Moka Box interior fittings, an organization system of dark oak drawers and pull-outs with black metal sides, glass, ceramic and metal accessories.
Functional, essential and complete concept for Urban’s new interior equipment-in particular the corner storage unit, integrating drawer bases and storage units, with dark gray metal frames and mechanisms and baskets with aluminum perimeter, bottom in melamine, also dark gray.
Dividing the two areas of Thea is the wall of NTF black ash cabinetry, with Vertical Gola Profile in black anodized aluminum, which facilitates access to the dedicated pantry area.
Show Kitchen, to experience conviviality to the fullest
Beyond the black ash wood partition wall that also becomes an elegant boiserie, the convivial space of Thea, the Show Kitchen, opens, has the focus of relational activity on the convivial island characterized by the original Canto snack and the design of the Waterfall top in matte veined quartz that, thanks to the material continuity between the top and the end side, creates a refined and warm effect. The island dialogues with theelegant double sideboard from NTF fossil oak interiors.
Arclinea Kitchens : Linea Thea, a versatile model with multiple compositional solutions
Peculiarity of the new Thea, in addition to Arclinea’s wide range of materials and finishes, is its flexibility, which is expressed in various compositional solutions that integrate the Show and Wet Kitchen with harmony and balance, creating refined and at the same time functional environments.
Among the most sought-after proposals is the one with the Show Kitchen with the elegant convivial island finished with iron grey melamine doors glossy veined quartz Waterfall top (h: 2 cm), with outer front edge and black PVD stainless steel plinth behind, divided by the full-height wooden wall leading to the Wet kitchen.
The Wet Kitchen space with central operating area offers open wall units in Fossil Oak NTF and wire and ceramic accessories. The furniture is enhanced by the Gola Profile, Mensolinea and Mensoluce with integrated black anodized aluminum hood, and black PVD stainless steel plinth.
