In less than 30 years since its inception, Lombard company
Paola Lenti
has established itself as a benchmark on the international scene for outdoor and indoor furniture. His secret? A path made up of constant research and experimentation that has allowed the brand to combine tradition and innovation, seeking to propose always original solutions obtained precisely thanks to the deep study of the qualities of materials, both ancient and of the latest generation.
Along with the fabrics, made from the finest fibers, shapes and colors are also a hallmark of Paola Lenti, fundamental aspects that also give furniture and accessories, already designed in the name of strength and functionality, a character destined to last.
BIOGRAPHY AND WORKS OF PAOLA LENTI
Born in 1958 in Alessandria, Piedmont, Italy, after completing the Liceo Classico Paola Lenti moved to Milan, where she obtained a degree from the Politecnico and took her first steps into the professional world.
It was several fashion houses and a few events that allowed her to gain experience as an image coordinator and graphic designer, a background that in 1994 enabled her to found the eponymous Paola Lenti company in Meda, the Lombard district a few kilometers from Milan that owes its fame precisely to the artisanal production of furniture and the design sector.
Paola Lenti’s first products launched on the market, however, were rugs, already highlighting the attention to materials that would later characterize the entire life of the fledgling brand. Added to this aspect over the years were the continuous experiments with yarns and fabrics, which led the company to create its first outdoor collections that tied the brand’s image to the outdoor world in a double way, both because of the quality of the handwork and because of a marked talent for choosing and matching colors.
Over time, the world of Paola Lenti has been enriched with new solutions, which now include collections for interiors, but always with the same philosophy: whether it is sofas, armchairs, rugs, bookcases, tables or other furnishing accessories, the goal is to create true harmonious domestic landscapes, with the objects able to dialogue with each other precisely through shapes, materials and color.
NATURE AND DESIGN TOGETHER IN THE OASIS COLLECTION
The Oasi modular sofa
, with design by Francesco Rota, is an outdoor seating system that offers a high level of customization. In fact, the basic element can be complemented with backrests and armrests in many different configurations that allow for the creation of original compositions that make the most of the room.
The elements that can be combined with this garden sofa do not require coupling systems to be attached to the basic seat frame, which is manufactured from painted stainless steel and boasts springing on elastic straps.
Painted aluminum backrests and armrests are covered in Diade, a molded plastic material that is totally recyclable, an aspect that highlights Paola Lenti’s efforts toward the environment and our planet.
The generous size and geometric design of the Oasis collection are meant to fit perfectly into a garden and communicate with nature, thanks to a careful selection of colors that echo the surrounding outdoor environment. It is no coincidence, moreover, that Paola Lenti herself, in an interview with Corriere in 2016, explained how the study of nature, the creator of extraordinary works in itself, is one of the main inspirations for nourishing her creativity.
SHAPES AND COLORS
In addition to the quality of the materials, Paola Lenti’s furniture and accessories are renowned for their essential but at the same time well-designed forms, accompanied by original color choices that contribute to creating a great balance, capable of tying together concepts and sensations that are opposite only in appearance, such as past and present, tradition and innovation, aesthetics and functionality.
In this way, through research and relying on a variety of professionals, such as tailors, engineers or architects, the Meda-based company is now able to develop projects for multiple contexts, from the nautical sector to the residential one, remaining faithful to its philosophy based on the dialogue between materials, shapes and colors, which has allowed Paola Lenti to be present in about 300 international showrooms and land in more than 60 countries.
