Artek is undoubtedly one of the most important brands in the Nordic design industry,
always faithful since its inception to the philosophy behind its very name: the union of art and technology.
In this sense, the Artek philosophy finds a new confirmation in the series signed by Norwegian designer Daniel Rybakken and presented during Stockholm Design Week days, which adds to the Domestic Helpers family of furniture.
This is Rybakken’s first time tackling furniture design, but his past as a light designer comes through in these two new creations, almost an evolution of his previous studies.
- Kiila is a line that consists of a coat rack, a bench and a coat rack made of solid ash wood, metal and MDF. It is a sturdy family of objects, made to last; the heaviness of the wooden rods used also testifies to this.
- 124° mirrors have an unmistakable sculptural quality. The two faces of the mirror are placed at the angle from which it takes its name, creating a striking play of reflections, each other and the surrounding space. 124° is available in three different variants, including one with an integrated wooden shelf, and can have endless applications: it can be hung on the wall in any room or placed on a table or shelf.
Kiila and 124° enter our homes, helping us in our daily lives thanks to two indispensable features of Artek productions: functionality and beauty.
