Moroso
, capable of making armchairs and upholstered furniture that have become world-famous for their quality and consistently original aesthetics that highlight the full artistic vein present in each design.
There are now several dozen designers working on Moroso sofas and armchairs who do not just provide creative input, instead imprinting their passion and culture into each product made. The ultimate goal, regardless of the personalities involved, the materials and fabrics used, and the production process, is always to ensure that the customer has upholstered furniture of a superior standard and capable of meeting a wide variety of needs.
OVERVIEW OF HOW THE DESIGN OF MOROSO CHAIRS BECAME WORLD FAMOUS
Moroso’s journey began in 1952, as a result of the ambition of Agostino Moroso and his wife Diana, who were eager to create a company capable of establishing itself in the manufacture of sofas, armchairs and furniture accessories. The great attention to craftsmanship and the importance of creativity represented the pillars on which the company later built a highly successful future, relying on the talent of the best designers on the market.
Patricia Urquiola, Marcel Wanders and Nendo are just a few of the names with whom Moroso has collaborated over the years to create products that have become iconic precisely because they are able to preserve the uniqueness and cultural imprint of their creators, aspects naturally combined with the choice of the highest quality materials and know-how honed over time.
Moroso’s openness to the most prestigious professionals internationally has resulted in the company’s upholstered furniture finding its way into high-class venues, from London’s Victoria & Albert museum to New York’s Moma.
PACIFIC MOROSO: DESIGN AND FABRICS
Launched in 2021,
the Pacific collection by Moroso
is designed by Patricia Urquiola and includes pouf, armchair and sofa, all featuring soft lines and round shapes meant to evoke the relaxed atmosphere of the U.S. West Coast, from which the name is inspired.
The goal is to make those who sit on one of these upholstered seats feel completely protected and enveloped by these comfortable forms. Further accentuating the sense of relaxation is the tactile effect of the soft fabric covering the products, which can be chosen from a variety of options, including wool, velvet or bouclé.
BLOOMY MOROSO: DESIGN AND FABRICS
It was spring that served as Patricia Urquiola’s inspiration in the creation of Bloomy, a collection born in 2004 that attempts to transport all the stages of a flower’s life into the world of furniture.
Chair, armchair, armchair and coffee table represent metaphorically, but also concretely with their forms, the cycle from stem birth to flowering. With completely removable covers, Bloomy is available in leather or fabric, and boasts fire-retardant cold-foam padding with an internal steel frame and elastic straps. The coffee table, on the other hand, is made with a painted steel base and Laminam® top, available in stone gray, ivory white or black.
TROPICALIA MOROSO: DESIGN AND FABRICS
The importance and freedom of Moroso’s creative process are clearly evident within the Tropicalia project, which Patricia Urquiola developed in 2008 from the tubular steel structure of Antibodi, a collection born two years earlier.
In Tropicalia, the frame is covered with a round of colored thread that highlights the playful character of the design, especially in the two- or three-color version, and completely transforms the basic structure, which is worked into a chair, daybed, armchair, or cocoon.
The option to also choose between monochromatic plastic cords and leather cords is especially useful for those looking for a more refined or elegant solution. Book an appointment with our professional team to discover the quality of Moroso collections in our showroom.
