Established in the early years of the last century,
Molteni&C
has seen the concept of home changing over the decades, in accordance with the constantly evolving sensibilities of consumers. The company, however, did not just observe, becoming an active part of this transition through a number of milestones that turned out to be pivotal, most notably its contribution to the establishment of the first Salone del Mobile in Milan in 1961.
Also in the same years, Molteni&C was equipping itself with more advanced machinery to meet an ever-increasing production demand. However, the need to bring increasing volumes to market has not affected the quality of the products, as is clearly visible in all Molteni furniture today. While technological innovation has changed production processes for the better, enabling previously unthinkable speeds, the company’s attention to detail has remained that of the artisan workshop opened by Angelo Molteni in the early 1900s.
That’s why, even today,
every Molteni closet is unique
, thanks to a degree of customization that allows anyone to get a piece of furniture that exactly meets their needs, both aesthetic and functional.
GLISS MASTER THE MOST POPULAR CABINET IN THE RANGE
It is precisely versatility and customization that are among the most representative features of Gliss Master, one of the most sought-after items, which it would be extremely reductive to call simply a closet.
In fact, it is an ecosystem designed by Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen, creative director of Molteni&C and Dada since 2016, which redefines the concept of a made-to-measure closet and opens up to countless solutions, which do not simply concern dimensions, finishes or materials: storage units, doors and walk-in closets allow the system to continually evolve and be enriched thanks to accessories such as shirt racks, shoe racks or tie racks, which manage to integrate harmoniously thanks to spaces that seem already dedicated to accommodate them and details such as magnetic dampers that make sliding systems smoother and recessed hinges with no visible mechanisms.
Each combination of the elements of this system will be both functional and aesthetically unique, thanks to the contrast between different yet highly prized materials and refined details, from the painted extruded aluminum frame and crystal of Gliss Master Window to the recessed handle in the door of Niche, to the faux leather that entirely covers the Skin door.
DISCOVERING MOLTENI WALK-IN CLOSETS
One of the endless possibilities of Molteni’s Gliss Master system involves converting it into a convenient and roomy walk-in closet by removing all the doors.
In this version, the protagonists then become the many available interior fittings, which can be modulated according to one’s preferences. The ideal walk-in closet composition thus allows you to play with hanging drawers, pull-out trays and drawers with dividers, as well as a variety of finishes, including glass, lacquer or pewter.
The Gliss Master Island is another unique component, consisting of an elegant stand-alone island that enriches and complements the wardrobe section, providing additional space that is nevertheless occupied in a discreet and organized manner.
On the other hand, for those who like open and bright rooms, Dwell is a system of sliding doors and transparent partitions that lends itself to closing off the compartments of walk-in closets, yet allowing the contents to be seen from the outside and combining modernity and elegance.
SLIDING AND GLASS CABINETS THE MAIN FEATURES
Among the options to complete the Gliss Master ecosystem, there could not be a lack of some that can enhance a material such as glass: among them is Gliss Master Window, featuring an extra-clear glass door that allows all the elegance of the wardrobe to shine through. Instead, A Filo plays on the fascinating contrast between wood and glass, a combination of tradition and modernity.
Molteni’s openness to technological innovation is then evident in the advanced sliding mechanisms, equipped with a magnetic damper system that makes the opening and closing of sliding cabinets smoother.
