The Angie armchair and Connery sofa are, in this sense, the most successful representation of the Minotti universe.
Angie is in fact the product of a collaboration with the Italian-Canadian studio GamFratesi, and it was in 2019 that it won the deli Achiproducts Design Awards in the Furniture category. Its curvy, leathery shapes, tailored workmanship and attention to detail make it an iconic item.
Connery, a seating system designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, is one of the new additions to Minotti’s 2020 collection, and in the architectural contamination that distinguishes it, the company’s ethical, aesthetic and artistic manifesto and a new way of thinking about domestic living are revealed: it is code to be read in all its interpretations.
Angie, the leather armchair with cozy softness
Looking at Angie, the eye is immediately caught by the leather or leather elements that draw a wing that envelops the armchair as if in an embrace, creating an almost sculptural support that accompanies toward the softness of the seat and back.
Angie is developed in the logic of opposites where the rigid leather structure is contrasted by the softness and sinuosity of the upholstered part; it is a logic of opposites that is also revealed in the plays of colors that are possible thanks to the alternation of these two different scenarios: the shell and the fabric chase each other, chase each other, and embrace each other in color combinations all to be chosen and experienced. It sits on the ground thanks to the supports made of die-cast aluminum equipped with an arched structure that connects with the rear feet going to emphasize the shapes of the body.
Angie is a journey that in a seemingly simple design hides a series of technological processes and insights that make it what it is: the differentiated foam upholstery and the leather and leather frame are made from Baydur® molds that fit well with the chair’s curved forms.

Connery, when architecture becomes a sofa

Designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, this sofa has an aesthetic-formal quality that is immediately noticeable: it is a statement of the project’s intent expressed through the skillful play of materials and refined workmanship.
Versatility is the hallmark of Connery’s personality, which manifests itself in the many possibilities of composition and choice of materials. But not only that. Its personality is also in the geometry where it is allowed to combine and alternate between square or round chaise-longues.
The seat can be 83 or 86 cm long and is designed as a single, enveloping cushion chased by light, almost imperceptible stitching; the backrest and armrest travel together forming a single volume.
The structural base is striking and intriguing with its reference to the universe of trunks and suitcases thanks to upholstery worked with high-end leather goods techniques. Warm, sweet colors that give off hints of brandy and whiskey make Connery a must-have luxury.
