We are in New Zealand, and Studio Patterson ‘s design dialogues with the natural setting of rocks and water in an environment where appreciating what is around us is the only possible solution.
Seascape Retreat, that is the name of the project, is an interlocking of geometries and perspectives open to the bay to achieve a robust structure made largely from rock quarried near the site and able to take advantage of on-site water collection.
These three rooms overlooking the ocean are poetic, and to be able to experience them is a privilege.
