Minotti’s outdoor and the choice of fine materials
Minotti’s outdoor proposals follow in the footsteps of the essence of this Italian excellence: demonstrating know-how by holding the sartorial aspect of the realization of each project in the highest regard. Venturing a comparison with the world of haute couture, it can be said that Minotti is a luxury boutique that never ceases to surprise with creations that suit all occasions and appointments. The starting point is the painstaking search for materials that possess certain characteristics, such as, for example, the ability to resist the wear and tear of time and the action of the weather. These two characteristics are obviously the main ones for a material that wants to establish itself as a suitable choice for outdoor use. But not only that. Minotti chooses real excellences-think of the fine Iroko solid wood-that manage to give life to balanced yet mind-blowing forms, shaped between classicism and modernity.
Minotti’s outdoor furniture complements, such as chairs, seating systems and tables, are not born out of a context; rather, they are closely linked stylistically with the indoor proposals. It is a path that dialogues in redesigning living spaces both inside and outside. Gardens and private terraces thus become open-air living rooms where you can enjoy sunrises, sunsets and sunsets in relaxation while not giving up any comforts. Minotti’s outdoor collections also embellish the terraces of hospitality facilities and the exteriors of yachts where the sea blesses the material.
And it is precisely the ambition of the outdoors that inspires the Virginia Outdoor collection designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, where the supple, warm and soft lines of Iroko solid wood embrace feelings of freedom and well-being.
Instead, from the nautical world takes its cue Quadrado, which revolutionizes the use of the duckboard thanks to the work of Marcio Kogan for an outdoor experience.
The “Virginia Collection” in solid Iroko for enjoying freedom in the open air
The Virginia Outdoor collection is a Minotti flagship. It is a hymn to the outdoors, to freedom, to views that are lost in the natural and metropolitan settings where one breathes freedom and well-being.
Virginia Outdoor consists of a sofa, armchair and footrest that, thanks to their compact proportions, are well suited to different solutions that can range from a terrace, to a small veranda to larger projects such as those dedicated to hospitality.
The absolute star is Iroko wood, which makes a fine show of all its qualities. It is a ductile, durable, warm and lively material that lends character to the environment, and, in addition, lends itself to various processing where modernity and classicism find more than a compromise. It is available in both a natural finish and a Dark Brown tint both treated with a protective varnish that can withstand UV rays without ever losing its brilliance. The frame is a classic example of clean lines and houses the soft, comfortable seat and back cushions where the elegance of the upholstery is synonymous with attention to detail and function: in fact, they are removable and, above all, water-repellent and just right for outdoor placement.
The Virginia Collection is definitely a must-have by Minotti, and all its appropriateness and beauty is played out in the choice of solid Iroko: every grain, every shade of color, even in the unevenness, testifies to the strength and value of this irreplaceable, durable material, full of surprises with every variation in shade.
Quadrado the rationalist outdoor table that echoes the nautical pattern of the carabottino
Quadrado is the winning bet of Minotti and Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan. Is it possible to change the fate of a system such as the duckboard used purely in boating? Evidently so, and Quadrado is the finest and, at the same time, boldest example of this.
Quadrado is a rationalist table and essential in its lines. The design is based on a light interplay between materials and textures that are grafted into the linearity of the form, culminating in the teak grating top borrowed from the nautical world. From a structural point of view, the table, which is available in three different sizes, features the top resting on two aluminum supports that are shaped like panels running through it on its shortest side and embellished with a very fine Lava Stone Powder. Here is the interplay of materials: powder, aluminum and teak create something unheard of but rigorous.
Quadrado is also an interactive table on which new experiences can be fulfilled: in fact, there are a whole series of elements that can be added such as trays and lava stone candle holders that allow the table to be configured according to occasions, guests, and uses. This is also compounded by the modularity of the structure.
And so Quadrado becomes a game of dominoes with its surroundings: new combinations to discover new spaces, just as Marcio Kogan imagined.
